Transient Room Tax Rate

Boardman has a 5% transient room tax so that people who visit and stay in a hotel (or other short-term rental) help pay a small share toward the city, instead of local residents paying for everything.

• The tax is 5% of the room price, so it’s usually just a few dollars added to the bill.

• The money helps the city pay for community services, and it can also help with things that support visitors and travel, like tourism promotion and visitor-related facilities, which state rules often encourage for lodging taxes.
