Animal Control works in partnership with the citizens of Boardman to promote and maintain a safe and attractive living and working environment. Animal Control routinely patrols neighborhoods for code violations and investigates complaints with a mission of abating issues and educating residents.

Animal Control is responsible for maintaining dog licensing records, as well as records pertaining to dogs at large, barking dog complaints, and the impoundment of stray dogs. The city will not be responsible for at large chickens.

The City will publish a photograph and the location of found dogs. To ensure the animal is released to the rightful owner, the owner will be required to provide the dog’s gender as part of the verification process.

Title 6 Animal Control

The purpose of this title is to establish regulations for the keeping of animals within the city of Boardman including standards and enforcement authority. Specific animals addressed within this title are dogs and chickens.
