Public Comment: Oregon's Public Meetings Law generally requires that meetings of public bodies be open to the public and that the public be given notice of those meetings. While the law guarantees the public's right to attend, it does not automatically guarantee the right to speak or participate in public comment. Governing bodies set their own rules for public participation, including the length and format of public comment periods. Agendas posted will indicate whether or not the meeting allows for public comment.
