The City of Boardman is proud to announce that the Boardman Police Department has successfully completed the process for Oregon State accreditation through the Northwest Accreditation Alliance.
On May 12, 2026, the Northwest Accreditation Alliance Professional Standards Committee reviewed the assessor’s report from the department’s recent agency assessment. The committee unanimously recommended that the Boardman Police Department be granted accredited status, recognizing the department’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public safety standards.
“While I'm incredibly proud of this achievement, accreditation is not something one person accomplishes,” said Police Chief Rick Stokoe. “It takes the dedication and professionalism of every member of the Boardman Police Department. Every employee played a role in reaching this milestone, and this recognition belongs to the entire team. I also want to thank the City Council, City administration, and the Boardman community for their continued trust and support. Maintaining a professional, well-trained police department requires an investment from the community, and we are grateful for that partnership. This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to earning that trust every day by providing the highest level of service to the people of Boardman.”
The Northwest Accreditation Alliance also gave special recognition to Captain Loren Dieter for his exceptional work in preparing the agency for the accreditation review. His dedication and efforts were noted as instrumental in helping the department achieve this milestone.
The department’s reaccreditation period began in September 2025, and the accreditation term is for three years. The next assessment for reaccreditation is expected to occur before the current accredited period expires on September 30, 2028.
