Mayor's Message

The elections are over, the outrageous gas tax failed, and the citizens of Morrow County have spoken.  Now is the time to get busy and get to work. May the individuals chosen for Morrow County be guided to work for all of the county. There are many challenges but God willing they will work collaboratively for the good and betterment of Morrow County.

If you have driven down Northeast Front Street in Boardman you may have noticed a lot of road construction. Some exciting infrastructure is being built. These projects are funded by Enterprise Zone Funds that Boardman receives.Boardman is using these funds to build infrastructure for the future growth of Boardman due to amount of construction and increased traffic around Boardman. It is the goal of Boardman that the building of these roads creates businesses to come and do business withing the city limits.

You may have heard about the City of Boardman providing water to West Glenn. This is a very volatile and concerning topic for all. There are a lot of issues that need to be discussed with the county before this happens. We have the water and they need it, but we don’t have to give it. It is your water. Let me assure the citizens of Boardman that the goal of this mayor is to make sure that Boardman’s water is protected. It is important to help our neighbors with good drinking water but not at the risk of possible contamination to Boardman’s water system. The City Council will not make hasty decisions and will make sure that whatever the decision is, there will be no liability to the citizens of Boardman.

Lastly, I would like to personally thank all of Boardman for working hard to keep their properties mowed and clutter free. If you drive around Boardman, take a look at the many vacant lots that have started working on creating fire breaks, mowing down tall grass, and taking pride in Boardman with the upkeep of their properties. If you see an area of concern, please contact City Hall and share them.

Small town, Big Dreams.  Let’s grow Boardman together.

Mayor Keefer
