Whether you have a backyard bin or use a local compost program, every banana peel, coffee filter, and pile of leaves can be part of a healthier cycle.
Call to Action: Start composting this month by collecting fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, eggshells, and yard debris. Small changes at home can lead to healthier soil, less waste, and a greener community.

Happy Spring!! The lights on Main Street are on and we are able to enjoy the beautiful Main Street project finally finishing. I wish to thank every citizen for their patience as we, as a city, worked with the construction crew to finish this project. It is a nice addition and should help with bringing in continued development into our great city.
With Spring comes cleanup. Starting in April our free dump vouchers will be available to Boardman residents. Don’t forget to come to City Hall and receive your voucher for free dumping and the Morrow County Transfer Station. Remember the Transfer Station is only open on Saturday and Sunday.
Starting this Spring the City will start construction on Northeast Front Street. This project will completely remove and repave Front Street. This improvement will include a sidewalk and lampposts to help light the street. Don’t worry about the Splash Pad not being open, there will be access during paving. Also remember, the Splash Pad will be relocating to the Boardman City Park as well. It will be revamped and updated with a spectacular theme.
Lastly, as spring emerges, continue to strive to make Boardman a great place to live. Continue to keep your properties clutter free and tidy as best as possible. The City is enforcing code violations. We are here to work with you. If you get a visit by Code Enforcement, be mindful that we are striving to make our city a better place to live by having all citizens follow the City Codes. If there are any questions about Code feel free to contact City Hall. They would be happy to help in any way possible. Be involved and informed. Stand up for Boardman as we continue to grow and prosper remembering that we are “Small Town, Big Dreams, Let’s grow Boardman together”.

Keeping Boardman Clean...
Free garbage vouchers are available April 1-30 at City Hall for residents within city limits. Apartment complexes receive one voucher per property through the property manager.
Residents can also use the recycling bins behind City Hall for plastics, metals, cardboard, and paper, plus a separate glass-only bin. No plastic bags or bagged recyclables. These services help keep Boardman clean and beautiful.
Animal Control
We’re excited to announce a low-cost rabies clinic coming this May—an easy and affordable way to keep your pets healthy and protected.
This is also a friendly reminder that all pets must be registered with the city, and rabies vaccinations are required to be kept up to date. We’ve had increased calls regarding dogs at large, so please take a moment to ensure your fences are secure and your pets are safely contained to help prevent accidents.
