Comprehensive Plan

The City of Boardman has a long history of land use planning going back to at least 1975 with the adoption of a Comprehensive Plan. Interestingly there are 14 sections to the plan, some similar to the 14 statewide planning goals that we have today. It was funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and adopted in August 1975 with a focus on the following areas: land use, wastewater, water, storm drainage, transportation, housing, open space and natural resources, economic resources, public facilities and services, energy conservation, and air, water and land resources quality.

In May 1991 the City Council adopted a revised Comprehensive Plan that conforms more to the current 14 statewide planning goals providing the framework for the current Comprehensive Plan that was adopted in April 2003.

You are encouraged to review these previous versions of the Boardman Comprehensive Plan. They provide an interesting view into the history of Boardman and the dreams and aspirations of previous leaders.
