2007 CONSUMER CONFIDENCE REPORT (WATER QUALITY)

Welcome to the City of Boardman Public Works Department. Public Works purpose and responsibilities extend far beyond providing and maintaining the City's infrastructure. We are committed to safe and reliable roadways, a plentiful supply of safe drinking water, and making Boardman a beautiful place to live. Your public works employees work hard each and every day and they are proud to be able to make your life safer and easier.

WATER/ WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT
The Water/Wastewater Department is responsible for supplying water and wastewater services to its customers. We presently have over 760 water service connections. The City is permitted to pump up to 23 million gallons of water every day. The City is contracted to provide the Port of Morrow industries with 648 million gallons of water annually, and is capable of providing even more

Other Functions:

  • Meter Reading
  • Back-flow/Cross Connection Record Keeping
  • Water/Wastewater Connection Maintenance
  • New Service Installs
  • Repair and Replacement of water mains, service lines and water meters
  • Operate and maintain three 14-acre wastewater lagoons
  • Operate and maintain an irrigation pump station for disposal of treated effluent wastewater from lagoons to a 104-acre circle

STREET DEPARTMENT
To develop, operate and maintain the City of Boardman's street system. Consisting of approximately 19.2 miles of paved streets and 1 bridge.

Other Functions:

  • Providing Street Sweeping
  • Routine road and bridge maintenance
  • Road grading, shoulder work, sweeping and vegetation control
  • Patching and sealing paved streets
  • Installing, repairing and replacing signs, pavement markings and striping
  • Winter maintenance (snow removal, plowing, sanding)
  • Emergency response to street hazards and natural hazards
  • Contract management for pavement preservation and capital improvement projects
  • Regulation, inspection, and administration of street work and street development within the city limits

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintenance and repair of city vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintenance of city property.

Emergencies: Call City Hall at 541-481-9252 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm) Call 911 for after hour emergencies

Non-Emergencies: Call City Hall at 541-481-9252 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm) to pre-arrange any shut off or turn on of water meters
